The Buddha illuminates even interstellar space, so that beings reborn there see each other.
ฉบับหลวงอัจฉริยสูตรที่ ๑
ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
ข้อ ๑๒๗ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมี ๔ ประการย่อมปรากฏเพราะความ ปรากฏแห่งพระตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ๔ ประการเป็นไฉนดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เมื่อใด
เล่ม ๒๑ · หน้า ๑๓๑พระโพธิสัตว์จุติจากชั้นดุสิต มีสติสัมปชัญญะ เสด็จลงสู่ครรภ์พระมารดา เมื่อนั้น แสงสว่างอัน โอฬารหาประมาณมิได้ ย่อมปรากฏในโลก พร้อมทั้งเทวโลก มารโลก พรหมโลก ในหมู่สัตว์ พร้อมทั้งสมณพราหมณ์เทวดาและมนุษย์ ล่วงเทวานุภาพของเทวดาทั้งหลาย แม้ในโลกันตริกนรก อันโล่งโถง ไม่มีอะไรปิดบัง มืดมิดมองไม่เห็นอะไร ซึ่งแสงสว่างแห่งพระจันทร์และพระอาทิตย์ ผู้มีฤทธิ์มีอานุภาพมากอย่างนั้นส่องไม่ถึง แต่แสงสว่างอันยิ่ง หาประมาณมิได้ ย่อมปรากฏแม้ใน โลกันตริกนรกนั้น ล่วงเทวานุภาพของเทวดาทั้งหลาย แม้พวกสัตว์ที่เกิดในนรกนั้น ย่อมจำกันและกัน ได้ด้วยแสงสว่างนั้นว่าท่านผู้เจริญ ได้ยินว่า แม้สัตว์เหล่าอื่นผู้เกิดในที่นี้ก็มี (ไม่ใช่มีแต่เรา) ดูกร ภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เป็นความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมีข้อที่ ๑ ย่อมปรากฏ เพราะความปรากฏแห่งพระตถาคต อรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ฯ
อีกประการหนึ่ง เมื่อใด พระโพธิสัตว์มีสติสัมปชัญญะ ประสูติจากครรภ์พระมารดา ฯลฯ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เป็นความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมีข้อที่ ๒ ย่อมปรากฏ เพราะความปรากฏแห่ง พระตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ฯ
อีกประการหนึ่ง เมื่อใด พระตถาคตตรัสรู้อนุตรสัมมาสัมโพธิญาณ ฯลฯ ดูกรภิกษุทั้ง หลาย นี้เป็นความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมีข้อที่ ๓ ย่อมปรากฏ เพราะความปรากฏแห่งพระตถาคตอรหัน ตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ฯ
อีกประการหนึ่ง เมื่อใด พระตถาคตประกาศอนุตรธรรมจักร เมื่อนั้นแสงสว่างอย่างยิ่ง หาประมาณมิได้ ย่อมปรากฏในโลกพร้อมทั้งเทวโลก มารโลกพรหมโลก ในหมู่สัตว์ พร้อมทั้ง สมณพราหมณ์ เทวดาและมนุษย์ ล่วงเทวานุภาพของเทวดาทั้งหลาย แม้ในโลกันตริกนรกอันโล่ง โถง ไม่มีอะไรปิดบัง มืดมิดมองไม่เห็นอะไร ซึ่งแสงสว่างแห่งพระจันทร์และพระอาทิตย์ผู้มีฤทธิ์ มีอานุภาพมากอย่างนั้นส่องไม่ถึง แต่แสงสว่างอย่างยิ่ง หาประมาณมิได้ ย่อมปรากฏแม้ในโลกัน ตริกนรกนั้น ล่วงเทวานุภาพของเทวดาทั้งหลาย แม้พวกสัตว์ที่เกิดในนรกนั้น ย่อมจำกันและกันได้ ด้วยแสงสว่างนั้นว่า ท่านผู้เจริญ ได้ยินว่า แม้สัตว์เหล่าอื่นผู้เกิดในที่นี้ก็มี (ไม่ใช่มีแต่เรา) ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เป็นความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมีข้อที่ ๔ ย่อมปรากฏ เพราะความปรากฏแห่งพระ ตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ความอัศจรรย์ไม่เคยมี ๔ ประการนี้ ย่อมปรากฏ เพราะความปรากฏแห่งพระตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ฯ

Incredible Things About the Realized One (1st)

“Tathāgatassa, bhikkhave, arahato sammāsambuddhassa pātubhāvā cattāro acchariyā abbhutā dhammā pātubhavanti.
“Mendicants, with the appearance of a Realized One, a perfected one, a fully awakened Buddha, four incredible and amazing things appear.

Yadā, bhikkhave, bodhisatto tusitā kāyā cavitvā sato sampajāno mātukucchiṁ okkamati, atha sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.
When the being intent on awakening passes away from the host of joyful gods, he’s conceived in his mother’s womb, mindful and aware. And then—in this world with its gods, Māras, and divinities, this population with its ascetics and brahmins, gods and humans—an immeasurable, magnificent light appears, surpassing the glory of the gods.

Yāpi tā lokantarikā aghā asaṁvutā andhakārā andhakāratimisā yatthapimesaṁ candimasūriyānaṁ evaṁmahiddhikānaṁ evaṁmahānubhāvānaṁ ābhā nānubhonti, tatthapi appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.
Even in the boundless gloom of interstellar space—so utterly dark that even the luminosity of the moon and the sun, so mighty and powerful, makes no impression—an immeasurable, magnificent light appears, surpassing the glory of the gods.

Yepi tattha sattā upapannā tepi tenobhāsena aññamaññaṁ sañjānanti:
And the sentient beings reborn there recognize each other by that light:

‘aññepi kira, bho, santi sattā idhūpapannā’ti.
‘So, it seems other sentient beings have been reborn here!’

Tathāgatassa, bhikkhave, arahato sammāsambuddhassa pātubhāvā ayaṁ paṭhamo acchariyo abbhuto dhammo pātubhavati.
This is the first incredible and amazing thing that appears with the appearance of a Realized One.

Puna caparaṁ, bhikkhave, yadā bodhisatto sato sampajāno mātukucchimhā nikkhamati, atha sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.
Furthermore, the being intent on awakening emerges from his mother’s womb, mindful and aware. And then … an immeasurable, magnificent light appears …

This is the second incredible and amazing thing that appears with the appearance of a Realized One.

Puna caparaṁ, bhikkhave, yadā tathāgato anuttaraṁ sammāsambodhiṁ abhisambujjhati, atha sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.
Furthermore, the Realized One awakens to the supreme perfect awakening. And then … an immeasurable, magnificent light appears …

Yāpi tā lokantarikā aghā asaṁvutā andhakārā andhakāratimisā yatthapimesaṁ candimasūriyānaṁ evaṁmahiddhikānaṁ evaṁmahānubhāvānaṁ ābhā nānubhonti, tatthapi appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.

Puna caparaṁ, bhikkhave, yadā tathāgato anuttaraṁ dhammacakkaṁ pavatteti, atha sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.
Furthermore, the Realized One rolls forth the supreme Wheel of Dhamma. And then … an immeasurable, magnificent light appears …

Yāpi tā lokantarikā aghā asaṁvutā andhakārā andhakāratimisā yatthapimesaṁ candimasūriyānaṁ evaṁmahiddhikānaṁ evaṁmahānubhāvānaṁ ābhā nānubhonti, tatthapi appamāṇo uḷāro obhāso pātubhavati atikkammeva devānaṁ devānubhāvaṁ.

This is the fourth incredible and amazing thing that appears with the appearance of a Realized One.

Tathāgatassa, bhikkhave, arahato sammāsambuddhassa pātubhāvā ime cattāro acchariyā abbhutā dhammā pātubhavantī”ti.
With the appearance of a Realized One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha, these four incredible and amazing things appear.”
