A mendicant is worthy of gifts because of six faculties.
ฉบับหลวงอินทริยสูตร
ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
ข้อ ๒๗๔ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการ ย่อมเป็นผู้ควรของ คำนับ ฯลฯ เป็นนาบุญของโลก ไม่มีนาบุญอื่นยิ่งกว่า ธรรม๖ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ ภิกษุ ในธรรมวินัยนี้ ประกอบด้วยอินทรีย์คือสัทธา ๑อินทรีย์คือวิริยะ ๑ อินทรีย์คือสติ ๑ อินทรีย์ คือสมาธิ ๑ อินทรีย์คือปัญญา ๑และกระทำให้แจ้งซึ่งเจโตวิมุติ ปัญญาวิมุติ อันหาอาสวะมิได้ เพราะอาสวะทั้งหลายสิ้นไป ด้วยปัญญาอันยิ่งเอง ในปัจจุบัน เข้าถึงอยู่ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการนี้แล ย่อมเป็นผู้ควรของคำนับ ฯลฯ เป็นนาบุญของโลก ไม่ มีนาบุญอื่นยิ่งกว่า ฯ

“Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti …pe… anuttaraṁ puññakkhettaṁ lokassa.
“Mendicants, a mendicant with six qualities is worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of veneration with cupped palms, and is the supreme field of merit for the world.

Saddhindriyena, vīriyindriyena, satindriyena, samādhindriyena, paññindriyena, āsavānaṁ khayā anāsavaṁ cetovimuttiṁ paññāvimuttiṁ diṭṭheva dhamme sayaṁ abhiññā sacchikatvā upasampajja viharati.
The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom. And they realize the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom, and live having realized it with their own insight in this very life due to the ending of defilements.

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti pāhuneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo añjalikaraṇīyo anuttaraṁ puññakkhettaṁ lokassā”ti.
A mendicant with these six qualities is worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of veneration with cupped palms, and is the supreme field of merit for the world.”
