Paṭhamanirayasutta

Things leading to hell or heaven.

ฉบับหลวงนิรยสูตรที่ ๑

ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง

ข้อ ๓๕๒ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย บุคคลผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการ ย่อมเกิดในนรก เหมือนถูกนำมาเก็บไว้ ธรรม ๖ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ เป็นผู้ฆ่าสัตว์ ๑ ลักทรัพย์ ๑ ประ พฤติผิดในกาม ๑ พูดเท็จ ๑ มีความปรารถนาลามก ๑ และมีความเห็นผิด ๑ ดูกรภิกษุ ทั้งหลาย บุคคลผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการนี้แล ย่อมเกิดในนรก เหมือนถูกนำมาเก็บไว้ ฯ

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย บุคคลผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการ ย่อมเกิดในสวรรค์ เหมือน เชิญมาประดิษฐานไว้ ธรรม ๖ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ เป็นผู้งดเว้นจากปาณาติบาต ๑ จาก อทินนาทาน ๑ จากกาเมสุมิจฉาจาร ๑ จากมุสาวาท ๑ไม่มีความปรารถนาลามก ๑ และมี ความเห็นชอบ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย บุคคลผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการนี้แล ย่อมเกิดใน สวรรค์ เหมือนเชิญมาประดิษฐานไว้ ฯ

    “Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.

    “Mendicants, someone with six qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there.

    Katamehi chahi?

    What six?

  6. 1.3

    Pāṇātipātī hoti, adinnādāyī hoti, kāmesumicchācārī hoti, musāvādī hoti, pāpiccho ca, micchādiṭṭhi ca.

    They kill living creatures, steal, commit sexual misconduct, and lie. And they have corrupt wishes and wrong view.

    Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.

    Someone with these six qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there.

    Someone with six qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.

    Pāṇātipātā paṭivirato hoti, adinnādānā paṭivirato hoti, kāmesumicchācārā paṭivirato hoti, musāvādā paṭivirato hoti, appiccho ca, sammādiṭṭhi ca.

    They don’t kill living creatures, steal, commit sexual misconduct, or lie. And they have few desires and right view.

    Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge”ti.

    Someone with these six qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.”
