Pariññeyyasutta
The aggregates are to be fully understood, ending the defilements is the full understanding of them, and an arahant is the one who has achieved this.

พระนครสาวัตถี. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราจักแสดงธรรมที่ควรกำหนดรู้ ความกำหนดรู้ และบุคคลผู้กำหนดรู้แล้วแก่เธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงฟัง.
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็ธรรมที่ควรกำหนดรู้เป็นไฉน? คือ รูป เวทนา สัญญา สังขาร วิญญาณ. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ธรรมที่ควรกำหนดรู้.
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ความกำหนดรู้เป็นไฉน? ความสิ้นไปแห่งราคะ ความสิ้นไปแห่งโทสะ ความสิ้นไปแห่งโมหะ. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ความกำหนดรู้.
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็บุคคลผู้กำหนดรู้แล้วเป็นไฉน? บุคคลผู้กำหนดรู้แล้ว ควรจะกล่าวว่าพระอรหันต์ กล่าวคือ ท่านผู้มีชื่ออย่างนี้ มีโคตรอย่างนี้. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า บุคคลผู้กำหนดรู้แล้ว.
