A woman may be complete with five powers.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย กำลังของมาตุคาม ๕ ประการนี้ ๕ ประการเป็นไฉน กำลังคือรูป ๑ กำลังคือโภคะ ๑ กำลังคือญาติ ๑ กำลังคือบุตร ๑ กำลังคือศีล ๑ ฯ
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือรูป แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วย กำลังคือศีล พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้พินาศ คือไม่ให้อยู่ในสกุล มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วย กำลังคือรูปและกำลังคือโภคะ แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วย กำลังคือศีล พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้พินาศ คือไม่ให้อยู่ในสกุล มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือรูป กำลังคือโภคะ และกำลังคือญาติ แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือศีล พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้พินาศ คือไม่ให้อยู่ในสกุล มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือรูป กำลังคือโภคะ กำลังคือญาติ และกำลังคือบุตร แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือศีล พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้พินาศ คือไม่ให้อยู่ในสกุล แต่เมื่อมาตุคามประกอบด้วยกำลังคือรูป กำลังคือโภคะ กำลังคือญาติ กำลังคือบุตร และกำลังคือศีล พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้อยู่ในสกุล ย่อมไม่ให้พินาศ มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือศีล แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือรูป พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้อยู่ในสกุล ย่อมไม่ให้พินาศ ก็มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือศีล แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือโภคะ พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้อยู่ในสกุล ย่อมไม่ให้พินาศ มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือศีล แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือญาติ พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้อยู่ในสกุล ย่อมไม่ให้พินาศ มาตุคามผู้ประกอบด้วย กำลังคือศีล แต่ไม่ประกอบด้วยกำลังคือบุตร พวกญาติย่อมยังมาตุคามนั้นให้อยู่ในสกุล ย่อมไม่ให้พินาศ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย กำลังของมาตุคาม ๕ ประการนี้แล ฯ

“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa balāni.
“Mendicants, there are these five powers of a lady.

Katamāni pañca?
What five?
- 1.3
Rūpabalaṁ, bhogabalaṁ, ñātibalaṁ, puttabalaṁ, sīlabalaṁ.
Attractiveness, wealth, relatives, children, and ethical behavior.
- 1.4
Rūpabalena ca, bhikkhave, mātugāmo samannāgato hoti, na ca bhogabalena—
A lady who has the power of attractiveness but not the power of wealth
- 1.5
evaṁ so tenaṅgena aparipūro hoti.
is incomplete in that respect.
- 1.6
Yato ca kho, bhikkhave, mātugāmo rūpabalena ca samannāgato hoti, bhogabalena ca—
But when she has the power of attractiveness and the power of wealth
- 1.7
evaṁ so tenaṅgena paripūro hoti.
she’s complete in that respect.

Rūpabalena ca, bhikkhave, mātugāmo samannāgato hoti, bhogabalena ca, na ca ñātibalena—
A lady who has the powers of attractiveness and wealth, but not the power of relatives
- 1.9
evaṁ so tenaṅgena aparipūro hoti.
is incomplete in that respect.

But when she has the powers of attractiveness, wealth, and relatives
