ฉบับหลวงรุกขสูตรที่ ๓ · ปัญญินทรีย์เป็นยอดแห่งโพธิปักขิยธรรม ๓
ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
ข้อ ๑๐๗๖ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ต้นไม้ของพวกอสูรชนิดใดชนิดหนึ่ง ต้นจิตตปาฏลี โลกกล่าวว่า เป็นยอดของต้นไม้เหล่านั้น แม้ฉันใด โพธิปักขิยธรรมเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ปัญญินทรีย์ บัณฑิตกล่าวว่า เป็นยอดแห่งโพธิปักขิยธรรมเหล่านั้น เพราะเป็นไปเพื่อความตรัสรู้ ฉันนั้นเหมือนกัน.
ข้อ ๑๐๗๗ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็โพธิปักขิยธรรมเป็นไฉน? คือ สัทธินทรีย์เป็นโพธิปักขิยธรรม ย่อมเป็นไปเพื่อความตรัสรู้ ฯลฯ ปัญญินทรีย์เป็นโพธิปักขิยธรรม ย่อมเป็นไปเพื่อความตรัสรู้.
ข้อ ๑๐๗๘ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ต้นไม้ของพวกอสูรชนิดใดชนิดหนึ่ง ต้นจิตตปาฏลี โลกกล่าวว่า เป็นยอดของต้นไม้เหล่านี้ แม้ฉันใด โพธิปักขิยธรรมเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ปัญญินทรีย์ บัณฑิตกล่าวว่า เป็นยอดแห่งโพธิปักขิยธรรมเหล่านั้น เพราะเป็นไปเพื่อความตรัสรู้ ฉันนั้นเหมือนกัน.

“Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, ye keci asurānaṁ rukkhā, cittapāṭali tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati;
“Mendicants, of all the trees belonging to the titans, the Vivid Patala is said to be the best.

evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyā dhammā, paññindriyaṁ tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati, yadidaṁ—bodhāya.
In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.

Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyā dhammā?
And what are the qualities on the side of awakening?

Saddhindriyaṁ, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati …pe… paññindriyaṁ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati.
The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to awakening.

Of all the trees belonging to the titans, the Vivid Patala is said to be the best.

In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened”
