AN 4.26

Kuhasutta

Mendicants who are deceivers, stubborn, flatterers, frauds, insolent, and scattered: they are no mendicants of the Buddha.

ข้อ ๒๖ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุเหล่าใด เป็นผู้ลวง เป็นผู้กระด้างเป็นคนประจบ มี ปรกติวางท่า มีมานะดุจไม้อ้อที่ยกขึ้น เป็นผู้ไม่มั่นคง ภิกษุเหล่านั้นหาใช่เป็นผู้นับถือเราไม่ เป็นผู้ไปปราศจากธรรมวินัยนี้ และย่อมไม่ถึงความเจริญงอกงามไพบูลย์ในธรรมวินัยนี้ ส่วนภิกษุ เหล่าใด เป็นผู้ไม่ลวง ไม่ประจบ เป็นธีรชน ไม่กระด้าง เป็นผู้มั่นคงดี ภิกษุเหล่านั้นแลชื่อว่า นับถือเราไม่ไปปราศจากธรรมวินัยนี้ และย่อมถึงความเจริญงอกงามไพบูลย์ในธรรมวินัยนี้ ฯ

ภิกษุเหล่าใด ล่อลวง กระด้าง ประจบ วางท่า มีมานะดุจ

ไม้อ้อ และไม่ตั้งมั่น ภิกษุเหล่านั้นย่อมไม่งอกงามใน

ธรรม อันพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าทรงแสดงแล้ว ส่วนภิกษุ

เหล่าใดไม่ ล่อลวง ไม่ประจบ เป็นธีรชน ไม่กระด้าง ตั้ง

มั่นดีแล้ว ภิกษุเหล่านั้นแล ย่อมงอกงามในธรรม อัน

พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าทรงแสดงแล้ว ฯ

    “Ye te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū kuhā thaddhā lapā siṅgī unnaḷā asamāhitā, na me te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū māmakā.

    “Mendicants, those mendicants who are deceivers and flatterers, pompous and fake, insolent, and scattered: those mendicants are no followers of mine.

    Apagatā ca te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū imasmā dhammavinayā, na ca te imasmiṁ dhammavinaye vuddhiṁ viruḷhiṁ vepullaṁ āpajjanti.

    They’ve left this teaching and training, and they don’t achieve growth, improvement, or maturity in this teaching and training.

    Ye ca kho te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū nikkuhā nillapā dhīrā atthaddhā susamāhitā, te kho me, bhikkhave, bhikkhū māmakā.

    But those mendicants who are genuine, not flatterers, attentive, amenable, and serene: those mendicants are followers of mine.

    Anapagatā ca te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū imasmā dhammavinayā. Te ca imasmiṁ dhammavinaye vuddhiṁ viruḷhiṁ vepullaṁ āpajjantīti.

    They haven’t left this teaching and training, and they achieve growth, improvement, or maturity in this teaching and training.

    Kuhā thaddhā lapā siṅgī,

    Those who are deceivers and flatterers,
    pompous and fake,

    unnaḷā asamāhitā;

    insolent and scattered:

    Na te dhamme virūhanti,

    these don’t grow in the teaching

    sammāsambuddhadesite.

    that was taught by the perfected Buddha.

    Nikkuhā nillapā dhīrā,

    But those who are genuine, not flatterers, attentive,

    atthaddhā susamāhitā;

    amenable, and serene:

    Te ve dhamme virūhanti,

    these do grow in the teaching

    sammāsambuddhadesite”ti.
