Since the causes of the six interior sense fields are impermanent, how can the senses be permanent?

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย สิ่งใดไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงละสิ่งนั้นเสีย สิ่งนั้นอันเธอทั้งหลายละได้แล้ว จักเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูล เพื่อความสุข ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย อะไรเล่าไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย จักษุไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงละจักษุนั้นเสีย จักษุนั้นอันเธอทั้งหลายละได้แล้ว จักเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูล เพื่อความสุข หู …จมูก … ลิ้น … กาย …ใจ ไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงละใจนั้น เสียใจนั้นอันเธอทั้งหลายละได้แล้ว จักเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูล เพื่อความสุข ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ชนพึงนำหญ้า กิ่งไม้และใบไม้ที่มีอยู่ในเชตวันนี้ไป หรือพึงเผา หรือพึงทำตามสมควรแก่เหตุ เธอทั้งหลายพึงมีความคิดอย่างนี้ว่า ชนนำพวกเราไปหรือเผา หรือทำพวกเราตามสมควรแก่เหตุ ดังนี้บ้างหรือหนอ ภิกษุเหล่านั้นกราบทูลว่า หาเป็นดังนั้นไม่ พระเจ้าข้า ฯ
พ. ข้อนั้น เพราะเหตุอะไร
ภิ. เพราะเหตุว่า หญ้าเป็นต้นนั้นมิได้เป็นตน หรือเป็นของเนื่องด้วยตนของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเลย พระเจ้าข้า
พ. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ฉันนั้นเหมือนกันแล จักษุไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงละจักษุนั้นเสีย จักษุนั้นอันเธอทั้งหลายละได้แล้ว จักเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูล เพื่อความสุข หู … จมูก … ลิ้น … กาย … ใจ ไม่ใช่ของเธอทั้งหลาย เธอทั้งหลายจงละใจนั้นเสีย ใจนั้นอันเธอทั้งหลายละได้แล้ว จักเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูล เพื่อความสุข ฯ

“Cakkhuṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ.
“Mendicants, the eye is impermanent.

Yopi hetu, yopi paccayo cakkhussa uppādāya, sopi anicco.
The cause and reason that gives rise to the eye is also impermanent.

Evaṁ passaṁ, bhikkhave, sutavā ariyasāvako cakkhusmimpi nibbindati …pe… jivhāyapi nibbindati …pe… manasmimpi nibbindati,
Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind.

nibbindaṁ virajjati; virāgā vimuccati; vimuttasmiṁ vimuttamiti ñāṇaṁ hoti.
Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away they’re freed. When they’re freed, they know they’re freed.

‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṁ brahmacariyaṁ, kataṁ karaṇīyaṁ, nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānātī”ti.
They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.’”
