Tatiyasāriputtakoṭṭhikasutta
Mahākoṭṭhita asks Sāriputta whether a Realized One exists after death. Sāriputta says that only someone who has desire for the five aggregates would think in such terms.

ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
สมัยหนึ่ง ท่านพระสารีบุตรและท่านพระมหาโกฏฐิตะอยู่ ณ ป่าอิสิปตนมฤคทายวัน ใกล้เมืองพาราณสี ฯลฯ ได้มีคำถามอย่างนั้นเหมือนกันว่า ดูกรท่าน อะไรเล่าเป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัยให้พระผู้มีพระภาคไม่ทรงพยากรณ์ปัญหาข้อนั้น ฯ
ท่านพระสารีบุตรตอบว่า ดูกรท่าน ความเห็นว่า สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็ดี ฯลฯ สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็หามิได้ ย่อมไม่เกิดอีกก็หามิได้ก็ดี ย่อมเกิดมีแก่บุคคลผู้ยังไม่ปราศจากความกำหนัดความพอใจ ความรัก ความระหาย ความเร่าร้อน ความทะยานอยากในรูป ความเห็นว่า สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็ดี ฯลฯ สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็หามิได้ ย่อมไม่เกิดอีกก็หามิได้ก็ดี ย่อมเกิดมีแก่บุคคลผู้ยังไม่ปราศจากความกำหนัด ความพอใจ ความรัก ความระหาย ความเร่าร้อน ความทะยานอยากในเวทนา ในสัญญา ในสังขาร ในวิญญาณ ฯ
ดูกรท่าน ความเห็นว่า สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็ดี ฯลฯ สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็หามิได้ ย่อมไม่เกิดอีกก็หามิได้ ย่อมไม่เกิดอีกก็หามิได้ก็ดี ย่อมไม่เกิดมีแก่บุคคลผู้ปราศจากความกำหนัดความพอใจ ความรัก ความระหาย ความเร่าร้อน ความทะยานอยากในรูป ความเห็นว่า สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็ดี ฯลฯ สัตว์เบื้องหน้าแต่ตายแล้วย่อมเกิดอีกก็หามิได้ ย่อมไม่เกิดอีกก็หามิได้ก็ดี ย่อมไม่เกิดมีแก่บุคคลผู้ปราศจากความกำหนัด ความพอใจ ความรัก ความระหาย ความเร่าร้อน ความทะยานอยากในเวทนา ในสัญญา ในสังขาร ในวิญญาณ ดูกรท่าน นี้แลเป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัยให้พระผู้มีพระภาคไม่ทรงพยากรณ์ปัญหาข้อนั้น ฯ
