Sūkarakhatasutta
A mendicant honors the Realized One and his teaching for the sake of the supreme sanctuary.

ข้อ ๑๐๕๒สมัยหนึ่ง พระผู้มีพระภาคประทับอยู่ ณ ถ้ำสูกรขาตา เขาคิชฌกูฏ ใกล้ พระนครราชคฤห์ ณ ที่นั้น พระองค์ตรัสเรียกท่านพระสารีบุตรแล้วตรัสถามว่า ดูกรสารีบุตร ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพเห็นอำนาจประโยชน์อะไรหนอ จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต.
ท่านสารีบุตรกราบทูลว่า ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพเห็นธรรมเป็นแดนเกษมจากโยคะอันยอดเยี่ยม จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งในพระตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของพระตถาคต.
พ. ถูกละๆ สารีบุตร ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพเห็นธรรมเป็นแดนเกษมจากโยคะอันยอดเยี่ยม จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต
ดูกรสารีบุตร ก็ธรรมเป็นแดนเกษมจากโยคะอันยอดเยี่ยม ที่ภิกษุขีณาสพเห็นอยู่ จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคตนั้น เป็นไฉน?
ข้อ ๑๐๕๖สา. ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพในธรรมวินัยนี้ย่อมเจริญสัทธินทรีย์ อันให้ถึงความสงบ ให้ถึงความตรัสรู้ ย่อมเจริญวิริยินทรีย์ … สตินทรีย์ … สมาธินทรีย์ … ปัญญินทรีย์ อันให้ถึงความสงบ ให้ถึงความตรัสรู้ ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ธรรมเป็นแดนเกษมจากโยคะอันยอดเยี่ยมนี้แล ที่ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพเห็นอยู่ จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของพระตถาคต
ข้อ ๑๐๕๗พ. ถูกละๆ สารีบุตร ธรรมเป็นแดนเกษมจากโยคะอันยอดเยี่ยมนี้แล ที่ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพเห็นอยู่ จึงประพฤตินอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต.
ข้อ ๑๐๕๘ดูกรสารีบุตร การนอบน้อมอย่างยิ่ง ที่ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพประพฤติในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต เป็นไฉน?
ข้อ ๑๐๕๙สา. ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพในธรรมวินัยนี้มีความเคารพ ยำเกรงในพระศาสดา ในพระธรรม ในพระสงฆ์ ในการศึกษา ในสมาธิ ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ การนอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งแล ที่ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพประพฤติในพระตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต.
ข้อ ๑๐๖๐พ. ถูกละๆ สารีบุตร การนอบน้อมอย่างยิ่งนี้แล ที่ภิกษุผู้ขีณาสพประพฤติในตถาคต หรือในศาสนาของตถาคต.

Ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā rājagahe viharati gijjhakūṭe pabbate sūkarakhatāyaṁ.
At one time the Buddha was staying near Rājagaha, on the Vulture’s Peak Mountain in the Boar’s Cave.

Tatra kho bhagavā āyasmantaṁ sāriputtaṁ āmantesi:
Then the Buddha said to Venerable Sāriputta:

“kiṁ nu kho, sāriputta, atthavasaṁ sampassamāno khīṇāsavo bhikkhu tathāgate vā tathāgatasāsane vā paramanipaccakāraṁ pavattamāno pavattatī”ti?
“Sāriputta, considering what benefit does a mendicant with defilements ended, in rolling forth, roll forth with utmost deference for the Realized One or his instructions?”

“Anuttarañhi, bhante, yogakkhemaṁ sampassamāno khīṇāsavo bhikkhu tathāgate vā tathāgatasāsane vā paramanipaccakāraṁ pavattamāno pavattatī”ti.
“Sir, it is considering the supreme sanctuary from the yoke that a mendicant with defilements ended, in rolling forth, rolls forth with utmost deference for the Realized One or his instructions.”

“Good, good, Sāriputta!

Anuttarañhi, sāriputta, yogakkhemaṁ sampassamāno khīṇāsavo bhikkhu tathāgate vā tathāgatasāsane vā paramanipaccakāraṁ pavattamāno pavattati.
For it is considering the supreme sanctuary from the yoke that a mendicant whose defilements are ended, in rolling forth, rolls forth with utmost deference for the Realized One or his instructions.

Katamo ca, sāriputta, anuttaro yogakkhemo yaṁ sampassamāno khīṇāsavo bhikkhu tathāgate vā tathāgatasāsane vā paramanipaccakāraṁ pavattamāno pavattatī”ti?
And what is that supreme sanctuary from the yoke?”

“Idha, bhante, khīṇāsavo bhikkhu saddhindriyaṁ bhāveti upasamagāmiṁ sambodhagāmiṁ,
“It’s when a mendicant with defilements ended develops the faculties of faith,

satindriyaṁ bhāveti …
mindfulness,

samādhindriyaṁ bhāveti …
immersion,

and wisdom, which lead to peace and awakening.

It is considering this supreme sanctuary from the yoke that a mendicant with defilements ended, in rolling forth, rolls forth with utmost deference for the Realized One or his instructions.”

“Idha, bhante, khīṇāsavo bhikkhu satthari sagāravo viharati sappatisso, dhamme sagāravo viharati sappatisso, saṅghe sagāravo viharati sappatisso, sikkhāya sagāravo viharati sappatisso, samādhismiṁ sagāravo viharati sappatisso.
“It’s when a mendicant with defilements ended maintains respect and reverence for the Teacher, the teaching, the Saṅgha, the training, and immersion.
- 3.3
Ayaṁ kho, bhante, paramanipaccakāro yaṁ khīṇāsavo bhikkhu tathāgate vā tathāgatasāsane vā paramanipaccakāraṁ pavattamāno pavattatī”ti.
This is that utmost deference.”
