Iddhipadesasutta

Those who have developed psychic powers in part have developed the four bases of psychic power in part.

ข้อ ๑๑๑๒ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่งในอดีตกาล ยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จแล้ว สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น ยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มากซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ในอนาคตกาล จักยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น จักยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มากซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ในปัจจุบัน ยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น ย่อมยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มาก ซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ อิทธิบาท ๔ เป็นไฉน? ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุในธรรมวินัยนี้ ย่อมเจริญอิทธิบาทประกอบด้วยฉันทสมาธิและปธานสังขาร ย่อมเจริญอิทธิบาทประกอบด้วยวิริยสมาธิ … จิตตสมาธิ … วิมังสาสมาธิและปธานสังขาร.

ข้อ ๑๑๑๓ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ในอดีตกาล ยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จแล้ว สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น ยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มากซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ เหล่านี้แล สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ในอนาคตกาล จักยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น จักยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มาก ซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ เหล่านี้แล สมณะหรือพราหมณ์เหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่ง ในปัจจุบัน ย่อมยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จ สมณะหรือพราหมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้น ย่อมยังส่วนแห่งฤทธิ์ให้สำเร็จได้ ก็เพราะเจริญ กระทำให้มาก ซึ่งอิทธิบาท ๔ เหล่านี้แล.

    “Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, atītamaddhānaṁ samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā iddhipadesaṁ abhinipphādesuṁ sabbe te catunnaṁ iddhipādānaṁ bhāvitattā bahulīkatattā.

    “Mendicants, all the ascetics and brahmins in the past who have partly manifested psychic powers have done so by developing and cultivating the four bases of psychic power.

    Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, anāgatamaddhānaṁ samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā iddhipadesaṁ abhinipphādessanti sabbe te catunnaṁ iddhipādānaṁ bhāvitattā bahulīkatattā.

    All the ascetics and brahmins in the future who will partly manifest psychic powers will do so by developing and cultivating the four bases of psychic power.
